A Typical Day at Our French School
Each day begins with structured morning classes that build grammar, vocabulary, and confidence through discussions and role-plays. The activities that follow are all optional, allowing you to shape your day according to your interests and energy. Lunch can be shared with teachers for extra conversation practice, and afternoons offer either intensive courses or leisure activities like beach trips, sports, and cultural excursions. Evenings are for dining, socializing, and immersing yourself in local life.
A Student’s Typical Day
9:00 AM – 12:30 PM: Morning Course (with 30-minute break)
Structured French classes, shared by two teachers with focus on grammar, vocabulary, and above all oral communication.
First Half (9:00–10:30 AM)
The session begins with grammar and vocabulary training, followed by short oral accounts from students about their previous day. Discussions, debates on French news items, and role-plays in real-life situations (such as a customer and salesperson) keep the focus on active communication.
The first half ends with planning topics for the following day.
Second Half (11:00 AM–12:30 PM)
A short lecture introduces a cultural or linguistic theme, often sparking debate on social, political, or cultural issues. The teacher also presents key grammar points, supported by practice and reporting exercises. Around 80% of this session is dedicated to oral presentations and interactive speaking practice.
12:45 PM – 2:15 PM: Lunch with Teachers
Shared meals with teaching staff, offering informal conversation practice. For high intensive students, lunch also counts as a teaching session, with a curriculum tailored to their needs.
2:30 PM – 4:00 PM: Intensive Afternoon Course
Curriculum “à la carte” – students revisit, expand, or explore subjects of personal interest. Entirely devoted to conversation and developing spontaneity in speech.
2:30 PM – 5:00 PM: Activities & Excursions
Options include beach outings, golf, tennis, windsurfing, aerobics, horseback riding, rollerblading, and half-day excursions.
After 7:30 PM: Evenings
Dinner with host families or fellow students. Leisure activities such as theater, cultural events, or informal coffee meetings with teachers on the waterfront terrace.
Lunch with Teachers
From Tuesday to Friday, students and families are welcome to share lunch with our teachers in a relaxed and friendly setting — a perfect opportunity to practice French while enjoying authentic local food. Mondays are left free so you can settle into your accommodation, explore Saint-Raphaël, and take care of practical matters. However if you wish to have lunch the first Monday, we can introduce you to one of our regular restaurants, where you can have lunch independently and pay directly on site. To make group lunches with a teacher possible, we require a minimum of six participants, whether children, teens, or adults.
For high intensive students, lunch with a private teacher can also count as a teaching session, with the content tailored to your individual needs. Friendly, affordable, and welcoming for all ages, Café Paradis and Le Berbère are ideal places to combine good food with everyday French practice.
