Leisure and recreation
Those students not taking a full-day intensive course can either spend their afternoons on Saint-Raphaël’s sandy beaches or the school can arrange either tennis or golf at nearby courts and courses. There is also cycling and riding. The youngsters can learn dinghy sailing or windsurfing at the local yacht club. The instruction is entirely in French so they learn numerous sailing terms and commands too.
The school also offers all its students, excursions to the famous Riviera resort of Saint-Tropez or the hilltop village of St-Paul du Vence, wine tasting at well known Provençal vineyards, visits to the museums of Chagall, Matisse and Picasso or a day at Europe's Grand Canyon, the Gorge du Verdon.
 

Riviera activities

Besides golf, tennis, windsurfing and aerobics which we can arrange for you through the school's auspices, we can also organize additional activities such as squash, mountain- bike riding in Valescure, diving just off the coast, sailing at the Club Nautique and horseback riding at the Ranch Esterel on the Bay of Agay or the Ranch ”des trois fers ” in the suburb of le Dramont, specialized in ponies for young children.
 

Excursions

On Saturdays we have all day excursions to San Remo in Italy via Monaco or, a coastal drive to the Picasso Museum in Antibes, the Chagall and Matisse Museums in Nice and the Fondation Maeght in St. Paul-de-Vence. Or a visit to the Aqualand facilities in Saint-Aygulf , outside Fréjus. Cost: Whole day Euro 23, Half day

Full day excursion to Picasso, Chagall and Matisse

This is an art excursion that you will remember for the rest of your life! We start early in the morning and drive along the coastline on the so-called Corniche d'Or, an enchanted coastal road above the sea. In Antibes we will first visit the Musée Picasso which contains a superb collection of his paintings from 1946 when he resided in the very same building. This will be followed by a light lunch in the old town of Nice. Then in the Afternoon we will visit Musée Chagall that containing one of the largest collections of his works and the equally interesting Musée Matisse which is nearby. Chagall himself rests in the nearby cemetery of Saint-Paul-de-Vence - Cost: 23 Euros transportation + entries in the museums.
On Wednesday evenings we have a picnic on the beach by campfire light or, an elegant dinner on the terrace of a seaside restaurant offering good food and live music.
On Thursdays we take a half-day excursion by boat to Saint Tropez and the seashore at Pampelonne. Or, to the Cistercian Monastery in Thoronet with a wine tasting at one of the best local vineyards: Château Saint-Martin.
 

Introduction course in wine skills and tasting

For all connoisseurs of wine. A half day in the afternoon at the winery Le Chateau Saint-Martin or another well-known local vineyard in the vicinity of St. Raphaël. A lecture in English and French on topics such as horticulture techniques in vineyards, types of grapes, the making of wine, wine growing areas, appellation d'origines, wine tasting techniques from this year's wine growth to old bottles of exclusive milléssimés - Cost: Euro 30.
Twice a week, after dinner, on Tuesday and Friday, there is an optional get-together at one of the cafés on the water front. On Friday too, later in the evening, disco outing for the younger adults or meeting at a small, cozy piano bar featuring jazz and blues for those who prefer to relax.

Sports and Entertainment

There are cafés, discos, nightclubs, casinos and wonderful restaurants serving both French and ethnic cuisine, especially in the old town of Saint Raphaël. Golf, tennis, and windsurfing can be arranged through the school. Dinghy sailing can be arranged through rentals at the local yacht clubs.
Saint Raphaël offers aerobics, horseback riding, diving, water-skiing, roller-blading and biking. Above all, tennis and golf are the most popular sports and the local clubs pride themselves on excellent tennis courts and challenging golf courses. Those who love to walk or hike will find the city ever-changing tableaux , the ancient and old, standing alongside the new. In the nearby Esterel mountain range, the trails lead to breathtaking panoramas of the coastline.
